Kirk Herbstreit was born on August 19, 1969. During his high school, he was awarded the Gatorade Player of the Year and was a standout baseball player. He was the first player to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a four-year letter winner as a quarterback at Ohio State University from 1989 to 1993. After waiting his turn as a Buckeye starter he led the team as a senior in 1992. He was a co-captain and was voted team MVP. He had participated in charity events like the 2012 Buckeye Cruise for Cancer and The Make a Wish Foundation Ultimate Sports Auction. His broadcasting career started as an analyst for ABC Sports' college football prime time series. In the 1997 Sports Emmy Award as television, he was awarded as the top studio analyst. He also contributed to ESPN.com and to The Magazine. He made writing in 1997 entitled "Inside the Game with Kirk Herbstreit". He experienced working for ESPN as a color commentator as well as being a contributor to the Columbus, Ohio-based FM radio station and to the ESPN Radio affiliate. He also became a co-host in the show named The Big Show. In the year 2007, he was serving as a panelist for the series "Who's Now" and hosted a weekly college football radio program on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus in 2010. He appears annually as a commentator in EA Sports' NCAA Football. He was a quarterback on the Ohio State football team.
