Wolfgang Puck, a name synonymous with incredible fine dining. Born in Austria, Puck began his formal training at age 14, inspired by his mother, Maria, a hotel chef. In 1973 at the age of 24, Wolfgang left Europe for America.
After 2 years in Indiana, Puck made the move west to Los Angeles in 1975. He became both chef and part owner of Ma Maison, which quickly became a magnet for the rich and famous, with Wolfgang Puck the starring attraction.
Fame, acclaim and fortune quickly followed " thanks in part to a combination of a dynamic personality and culinary brilliance.
In 1981, following the publication of his first cookbook, Modern French Cooking for the American Kitchen, Puck opened a restaurant in West Hollywood named "Spago", which became one of the most popular restaurants in southern California.
Other restaurants followed throughout the United States. So did more cookbook's and instructional videos. However, the rest of the world needed to be conquered, Spago Tokyo opened in 1992.
Of course, you can see Wolfgang Puck all over network television, including the late-night talk show circuit.
Wolfgang lives in Beverly Hills and has two sons, Cameron and Byron.
