Her first cookbook, Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food was a #1 New York Times bestseller, remaining on the list for five months. The book also reached #1 on Amazon and #2 on the USA Today bestseller list.
In addition to recipes and tips, it addresses the big picture issues that surround childhood obesity and its longterm effects, and offers tools and sound nutrition information parents can use to help kids flourish.
In October 2010, Jessica released the follow-up to Deceptively Deliciousher second cookbook Double Delicious! Good, Simple Food for Busy, Complicated Lives. Building on the concept of the first book, the recipes also incorporate vegetable purees, whole grains, and alternatives to processed sugars and flours to give the food a hidden boost of essential nutrients.
She also launched a companion website, do it Delicious.com, which features home videos that teach at-home viewers how to prepare particular dishes or meals step-by-step, as well as a kitchen guide, store, blog, and community forum where users can submit tips and ask how-to questions.
Jessica is also the founder of Baby Buggy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing clothing and equipment to New York's families in need. To date, Baby Buggy has donated over four million essential items to New York families through domestic violence and homeless shelters, parent programs and court child centers. Working with more than 80 social service partners, Jessica has made Baby Buggy an integral part of the children's services network in New York City. In 2009, Baby Buggy received its third Four Star rating from Charity Navigator, and it is also an Accredited Charity of the Better Business Bureau.
In July 2010, Jessica launched a line of affordable baby-wear for Target. Called the Baby Buggy for Target collection, portions of each sale go to families in need.
