Kendra Scott is an American accessories designer. She is the chief executive officer of Kendra Scott Design.
Scott first moved to Austin at the age of nineteen and started her first company, a small hat store in the mall called Hat Box. Scott designed hats for people undergoing chemotherapy, to be "comfortable but stylish."
In 2002, Kendra Scott started her company Kendra Scott Design, Inc. Scott created and sold jewelry to local stores. Kendra Scott Jewelry is now available in more than 800 stores internationally. Her line of jewelry and her designs can now be found at top retailers such as Lord & Taylor, Henri Bendel and specialty boutiques around the globe. The line garners the attention of such magazines as In Style, O The Oprah Magazine, Town and Country, Glamour and Life & Style, all who regularly feature Kendra Scott Jewelry. The corporate headquarters are located in Austin, Texas.
Kendra Scott's business philosophy is in giving back to her community and she maintains a position on the board of LifeWorks, a non-profit that provides services to homeless and at-risk youth and their families, in Austin, Texas. Kendra also is a co-founder and co-chair of LEAP, a fundraising and networking organization that connects individuals interested in making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Kendra is also a keynote speaker on the national level for The American Heart Association's Go Red Campaign for Women.
In 2012, Kendra Scott Design, Inc. was named the number one Fastest Growing Company in Austin in their under $10 million category at the Austin Business Journal's Fast 50 Awards.
In 2010 she was named the most influential woman in Central Texas by the Austin Business Journal. Scott was listed as a "Fashion Influencer" in the Pantone Fashion Color Report in 2013 and 2014. Scott won an Austin Under 40 Award in the Business & Entrepreneurship category and was named the Austinite of the Year at the 2013 Austin Under 40 Awards. She was given the Lady Bird Johnson Humanitarian of the Year Award at Luminaria 2013.
