Carla Schmitzberger is a speaker, marketer, and business executive. Schmitzberger has a 25-year career primarily in Marketing – and has a passion consumer understanding. She has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, USA, and started her career as a Technical Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble in Germany. She developed a passion for Marketing and transferred almost three years later. Over the years she managed brands in various segments – personal care, beauty care, paper, detergents and cosmetics – at Johnson & Johnson and P&G– in Germany, Canada and Brazil. She then spent 8 years in Marketing in financial services - Credit Cards at Citibank – a fascinating business because of the amount of data available on consumer behavior. Schmitzberger absolutely believes in the need to lead and move people to accomplish business objectives. To this end she took a Strategic People Management Extension at INSEAD / in 2000. Since March 2006, Schmitzberger has been the Director for the Sandals Division at Alpargatas responsible for the Havaianas and Dupé businesses globally. She currently manages the Alpargatas USA (established in 2007) and Europe (established in 2008) subsidiaries as well as the export operations. She speaks on her experience in marketing for Alpargatas, as well as with other business with which she has worked. *In partnership with P&G Alumni Network Speakers Bureau.
