Though David Jaffe has had a tenured career working with Sony, he was only tangentially involved with the PlayStation department until he eventually joined the company proper to help work on the Twisted Metal franchise. Originally helping with Sony Imagesoft's publishing efforts on other consoles, he dabbled in test and design for games like Mickey Mania on the SNES, but it was his involvement with then-emerging developer SingleTrac where he would eventually make his mark with a proper production and direction role on the Twisted Metal series. When SingleTrac was eventually swallowed up by GT Interactive (and then again by Infogrames) and shut down, many of the core employees, including SingleTrac head Scott Campbell formed Incognito Entertainment, and it was here that Jaffe had a fairly active role in Incog's efforts -- including the darker restart of Twisted Metal: Black. After creating and overseeing a handful of games for Sony's Santa Monica Studios, including the first God of War and the PlayStation 3 downloadable title Calling All Cars!, Jaffe and Campbell struck out with their own studio, dubbed Eat, Sleep, Play.
