Carmen began her formal culinary career at The Restaurant School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation she worked under the supervision of Chef Georges Perrier at Le Bec Fin Restaurant. Then she went to New York to work with Chef Daniel Boulud at Restaurant Daniel. She has worked in many different countries, in the best restaurants of Spain, France, Italy, Latin America, Caribbean and Japan to perfect her cosmopolitan culinary background.
After a few several years in the food industry she opened Gala Functions, a catering company dedicated to offer the best of the world class gourmet cuisine in private residences, galas and corporate events. She creates a fine dinning experience in any place.
Carmen is also a free lance writer for newspapers in Latin America, she teaches cooking lessons in her private state of the art gourmet studio, where she also entertains clients, groups of culinary aficionados and food photographers. She is a food stylist, her work has appeared in gourmet magazine, bon appetite and Philly Style Magazine and several high cookbooks.
