Candice Wiggins is American basketball guard for the New York Liberty of the WNBA and for Beşiktaş Cola Turka Istanbul women's team in Turkey. Wiggins played her college basketball at Stanford University, where she graduated as the all-time leading scorer in Stanford and Pac-10 women's basketball history. She was selected 3rd overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2008 WNBA Draft.
At Stanford, She won the 2008 State Farm Wade Trophy as the national player of the year and was a four-time Kodak/WBCA All-American selection.
Wiggins made an immediate impact in the WNBA as a rookie, averaging 15.7 points per game and winning the 6th Woman of the Year award. That same year she founded the Candice Wiggins Foundation, an organization aimed at reaching out to youth about the AIDS/HIV epidemic, a cause close to her heart as her father, the late Alan Wiggins, passed away from the illness after playing seven seasons with the San Diego Padres and Baltimore Orioles.
