After appearing on the hit TV show “Shark Tank” he launched a business offering Dance It Out which is becoming one of the fastest growing fitness based dance program in America.
Self-taught and working professionally from his youth, Billy Blanks Jr. was mentored by Paula Abdoul starting at age 11 and started off by making a name for himself in the world of dance and entertainment. Billy Blanks Jr. earned roles as a dancer in music videos with Paula, Madonna, Quincy Jones, and Babyface. His credits also include TV appearances on the shows American Dreams with Alicia Keys, The Tonight Show, and many others. Billy starred in the US tour of the Broadway musical Fame and then went on to tour with the show in all of Europe.
Billy Blanks Jr. was born into a fitness family (his father Billy Blanks is famous as the creator of Tae Bo creator Billy Blanks) and has spent twenty plus years in the field. In 2012, Billy and Sharon were dubbed America’s First Family of Fitness thanks to the success of DIO as well as their work with children and families. In his book “Who’s Your Daddy?” Billy offers his outlook on what it takes to be a good father and a good husband.
