Sue Murphy is an American stand-up comedian.
As a performer, she has made many national television appearances including her own half-hour special Comedy Central Presents Sue Murphy, "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and multiple appearances on "Tough Crowd" with Colin Quinn. She also spent a season on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show" and is currently playing herself on Wanda Sykes Comedy Central series, "Wanda Does It."
She has been featured at prestigious comedy events around the world such as the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Australia.
In 2001, she was honored with a nomination for the American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand-Up and most recently, she won two Emmy Awards for her work writing and producing the "Ellen Degeneres Show."
