Frye is also an advocate for Alzheimer's awareness, having been personally touched by the disease when her own father was diagnosed. His struggle inspired her to direct the award-winning documentary Sonny Boy. Frye is also very active in Sean Penn's non-profit J/P HRO. She directed and produced the PSA, "Help Haiti Home". Frye's latest book Let's Get This Party Started was released in October 2013 by Abrams. Soleil shares her favorite kid-approved recipes, easy craft ideas, and essential party suggestions to make any birthday, holiday, or everyday occasion a little brighter. In addition Frye is a regular contributor to the Today Show and hosts OWN's Home Made Simple. Frye resides in Los Angeles with her husband and their three children.
