From March 2002 to March 2003, Mr. Silverman served as President of Applied Digital. He served as Vice President of Digital Angel Corp. since December 1, 2003 and its Special Advisor to the Board of Directors from August 2001 to March 2002. From September 1999 to March 2002, he operated his own private investment-banking firm and from October 1996 to September 1999, Mr. Silverman served in various capacities for Applied Digital including positions related to business development, corporate development and legal affairs. From July 1995 to September 1996, he served as President of ATI Communications Inc., one of Applied Digital's subsidiaries. He began his career and served as Attorney specializing in commercial litigation and communications law at Cooper Perskie in Atlantic City, New Jersey and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has been Chairman of PositiveID Corporation since November 12, 2008 and its Director since November 12, 2008. He has been Chairman of Steel Vault Corporation since January 3, 2006. Mr. Silverman served as an Executive Chairman of VeriChip Corporation from March 2003 to July 18, 2008 and Chairman since November 12, 2008. He served as Chairman of Medical Advisory Systems, Inc. Mr. Silverman served as Chairman of Digital Angel Corp. from March 2003 to July 2007. He served as Chairman of the Board of Applied Digital Solutions Inc. from March 2003 to July 3, 2007. He has been Vice Chairman and Director of Gulfstream International Group Inc. since September 8, 2010. He served as Vice Chairman of Digital Angel Corp. since December 1, 2003. He has been Director of Steel Vault Corporation since January 3, 2006 and previously served as its Director since January 2001. He served as a Director of Medical Advisory Systems, Inc. since July 2003. He served as Director of Digital Angel Corporation from February 2002 to July 2007 and VeriChip-Holding co. until July 2008. He served as an Executive Member of Board of Directors of VeriChip Corporation from February 2002 to July 2008. He is an Attorney licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Mr. Silverman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of arts degree and received his Law degree from Villanova University School of Law.
