He has also been nominated for four Soap Opera Digest Awards, winning "Outstanding Villain" for The Young and the Restless in 2001.

Rick's been married to wife Donna Smoot since 1990, they have two sons.
Although his real last name is Herbst, he is not related to his General Hospital co-star Rebecca Herbst.
