Her mother survived, but eight years later Nash's younger brother was shot to death at his high school. Nash used her gift of comedy to help her mother overcome her depression.
In order to "laugh to keep from crying," she became a comic who found her own voice out of tragedy. A successful actress, host, producer and mother, Nash cuts through the "mayhem and foolishness" to bring a surprising, touching and truly inspiring message of joy to audiences everywhere.
Her 2013 book "It's Hard to Fight Naked" shows you how to think differently about traditional norms and matters of the heart in the straightforward, funny and tell-it-like-it-is style only Niecy can deliver.
In 2015, Niecy was cast in the horror-comedy series "Scream Queens."
