Michael Chiarello is a celebrity chef specializing in Italian-influence California cuisine. In 1982, Chiarello graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. After graduation, Michael studied at Florida International University receiving his bachelor's degree in hospitality management. In 1985, he opened The Grand Bay Hotel in Coconut Grove, Florida and later that year was named Chef of the Year by "Food and Wine Magazine."
Michael later moved back to California where he opened the Tra Vigne restaurant in Napa Valley. Chiarello hosts the cooking shows "Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello" and "NapaStyle." He also owns Chiarello Family Vineyards, a winery named after his family.
