Melissa Rycroft is an American television personality, sales representative from Dallas, Texas, and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She participated as a contestant on the thirteenth season of ABC's The Bachelor, and CMT reality TV series Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team. She is currently a celebrity contestant on the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars.
Rycroft made an appearance on the thirteenth season of The Bachelor as one of the twenty-five bachelorettes for the Bachelor, Jason Mesnick. In the season finale, Mesnick chose Rycroft, then proposed to her. She said yes. Following the episode, ABC aired the After the Final Rose (Part One) episode, which was taped six weeks after the season finale episode; Mesnick broke up with Rycroft, and stated that he was still in love with Molly Malaney, the runner-up.
Rycroft replaced Nancy O'Dell on the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars after O'Dell withdrew due to injury. She is paired with professional Tony Dovolani, and competed on the season premiere episode having only practiced for two days, the shortest amount of time in the show's history. Despite this, she placed tied for second for the week one performances.
