Marshawn Lynch was born April 22, 1986, nicknamed "Beast Mode", is an American football running back for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). Lynch played college football for the University of California, Berkeley, where he became the school's second all-time career rusher. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Lynch attended Oakland Technical High School. In his 2003 season, Lynch amassed 1,722 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in only eight regular season games, and an additional 375 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in two postseason games. He was voted a PrepStar and SuperPrep All-American and was also voted as the San Francisco East Bay Player of the Year. Lynch experimented with other positions in high school. He played defensive back and also played some quarterback, wide receiver, and linebacker in high school. Rivals.com had him ranked #2 in the nation at running back behind Adrian Peterson by Rivals.com. In addition to being a star football player, Lynch was also an excellent track sprinter and played on Oakland Tech's basketball team alongside former Cal star Leon Powe. Lynch would take his team to the state semi finals. Lynch started all 16 regular season games, as well as the two playoff games the Seahawks were in. He accumulated 1,590 yards rushing on 315 attempts. He scored 11 touchdowns, his longest being a 77-yard TD run. He averaged 19.7 attempts per game and an incredible 99.4 yards per game, and over the course of the season, Lynch had an average of 5.0 yards for the season. He fumbled only 4 times, and lost just 2 of them. For his phenomenal statistics, his contributions to the team and his efforts, Lynch was elected into the 2013 Pro Bowl as a reserve. Lynch was a huge factor for the Seahawks in 2013. He rushed for 1257 yards and 12 tds, and recorded three 100 yard games. He caused another earth-shaking run against the Saints, again in Seattle, in the divisional round of the 2013-2014 playoffs.
