Mark Ryland has professional experience in a variety of fields, including law and public policy; software and network architecture; and science and philosophy. He received his B.A. in philosophy from the University of San Diego in 1983 and a law degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at U.C. Berkeley in 1986. After working as an attorney for a private law firm in Washington D.C., he worked for Microsoft Corporation from 1991-2000. He currently serves as the chief technology officer of Mpower Media, a family-beneficial entertainment company. He has been involved in the founding and leadership of various national think-tanks focused on philosophy and public policy. Mr. Ryland serves on the board of directors for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS); Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California; and the International Theological Institute in Austria. He is on the board of advisors to several other organizations, including the School of Philosophy of the Catholic University of America, and Thomas International, a new international fellowship of scholars working in the tradition of St. Thomas Aquinas. Mark, his wife Katy, and their children live in Great Falls, Virginia.
