Lloyd's brother, Paul Lewan, is the founder of Lewan & Associates, Inc. in Denver, Colorado where for over 29 years he built one of the largest and most successful local office technology resellers in the nation.
Numbering nearly 500 employees and eleven locations, Lewan serves the front range in the Rocky Mountain region. With a comprehensive array of products and services, Lewan is designed to be a single point of accountability for its customers offering facsimiles, copiers, computers, supplies service, network engineering, cabling, and telecommunication capabilities.
Paul Lewan first joined SCM Corporation as a salesman. In 1964, he became the Colorado branch manager. In 1972, with a sales force of six, he started Lewan & Associates selling desktop calculators.
Lewan & Associates has received numerous citations as a top national technology reseller by such giants as Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Sharp and Mita to name a few. In 1998 Paul was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year in the Rocky Mountain region in High Tech Services. At the same time, BTA recognized the company as Dealer of the Year.
Mr. Lewan is a graduate of Rutgers University and presently resides in Denver, Colorado. He is an active member of his community and his spiritual life and family are his highest priorities outside of work.
Dr. Lloyd S. Lewan is chairman of the board, Institute for Shipboard Education, an organization sponsoring the international program Semester at Sea. This program is academically affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh. He also serves as executive dean and in this capacity has led thousands of university students, faculty, and staff around the world on an ocean liner.
For many years, he served as chairman of the board of Lewan & Associates, Inc., one of the largest office-technology companies serving Colorado and Wyoming and now a part of Global Imaging, Inc., of Tampa, Florida.
A former United States Marine Corps officer, Lewan earned his doctorate from Oklahoma State University. He is an active community leader, particularly with burn survivors and urban at-risk youth.
Author of Women in the Workplace: A Man's Perspective and to be a LEADER: Leadership Beyond Management, he is nationally recognized as a keynote speaker on leadership, workplace, gender, diversity, and international issues.
Lloyd Lewan www.lloydlewan.com joined his brother in 1984 as chairman, leaving higher education. With a doctorate from Oklahoma State University, Dr. Lewan has been central in strategic planning, leadership development and human resources.
