Having made her mark on the fashion industry, it wasn't long before Hollywood came calling. Simmons' upbeat, fun, and charismatic personality keeps her in constant demand for roles on both the small and big screens. Simmons is currently a special correspondent for Paramount Television's The Insider and is in production on her reality show, Fabulosity: The Life and Times of Kimora Lee Simmons, which is set to debut on Vh-1 in the Spring of 2006. She has also hosted MTV's Fashionably Loud, America's Next Top Model, Metro Channel's Full Frontal Fashion, and the Sony Television talk show Life and Style. Simmons has commenced her film career appearing in MGM's Beauty Shop starring Queen Latifah and has recently wrapped the Focus Features film, Waist Deep, starring Tyrese Gibson and Megan Goode.
Simmons' newest foray into media includes two upcoming publications. In February 2006, ReganBooks will release Fabulosity: What it is and How to get it. Fabulosity is an inspirational lifestyle guide for young women who aspire to fabulous high style success in all areas of life. Additionally, she is currently at work on a children's book.
An enthusiastic philanthropist and patron of the arts, Simmons lends her time and support to numerous charitable organizations especially those institutions which target disadvantaged youth. She established the Kimora Lee Simmons Scholarship Fund at her alma mater in St. Louis to provide college tuition support for academically successful girls with financial needs and is an active member of youth advocacy organizations such as the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and Hetrick-Martin Institute. Together, she and her husband, Russell Simmons, have become two of America's most respected philanthropists and activists.
Presently, Simmons resides in New Jersey with husband, Russell, and daughters, Ming Lee and Aoki Lee.
