Kelly Choi returns as host for season two of "Top Chef Masters." An acclaimed food journalist and creator, producer and host of NYC TV's restaurant show "Eat Out NY," Choi chooses every restaurant featured on the program, then ventures to the back of the house - the kitchen - to prepare a dish with the chef. From fine-dining establishments to holes-in-the-wall, Kelly celebrates and loves them all. Her love for food began early, for she practically grew up in a grocery store. Her parents owned and operated an Asian market for many years, and after that, a conventional supermarket. In both locations, Kelly worked long hours as a stocker, cashier, grocery bagger, and at times, even as a butcher, all the while eating and trying everything she saw.
A former model, Choi is also host of the nationally syndicated and Emmy award-winning "Secrets of New York," a weekly show that reveals mysteries and little-known facts about the five boroughs.
Kelly has hosted the USA finals of the prestigious culinary competition, Bocuse d'Or, which is held in Lyon, France, every two years. She has also been a judge on "Iron Chef America," judged "Master Chef" in Puerto Rico, and will be hosting the James Beard Media Awards in May. She has received multiple Emmy nominations from the New York chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her work on NYC TV.
Born in Seoul, Korea, Choi won the Elite Modeling Agency's "Look of the Year" contest, and has been voted as "One of the Sexiest New Yorkers" by the New York Post. She has a Masters degree in Magazine Writing from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
Kelly supports, among many charities, an Alliance for a Healthier Generation as well as City Harvest, and has hosted various charity events related to food around New York City.
