Kellen Clemens is an American football quarterback for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, the 49th overall pick. He played collegiately at Oregon.
He has also been a member of the Washington Redskins, Houston Texans, and St. Louis Rams.
Clemens took over at quarterback at Oregon as a sophomore and set the school record for yards and touchdowns that year, establishing himself as the Ducks' leader and quarterback. He led Oregon to the 2003 Sun Bowl and the 2005 Holiday Bowl, but was unable to play after breaking his ankle in a game against Arizona.
Despite the injury, he was selected in the second round by the New York Jets where he played for five years. He has played in 42 games with 21 starts throughout his career, accumulating 3,954 yards and 15 touchdowns in his career.
