Dr. John Trent is President and Founder of StrongFamilies.com and The Center for StrongFamilies, a team of professionals committed to training and equipping lay and pastoral leaders to build strong marriage and family relationships in their home churches. Dr. Trent is also one of the founders of Leading From Your Strengths and Insights International, creators of the Leading From Your Strengths online strengths assessment. This leading online tool is being used across the country to build strong family relationships as well as strong ministry and workplace teams. Dr. Trent's main focus includes writing and speaking at retreats, conferences, business settings, churches and seminars across the country. In addition to being a nationally known family speaker, Dr. Trent regularly does keynote speaking across corporate America on teambuilding, recruiting and retaining outstanding employees. Dr. Trent is a Best-Selling and Award Winning Author… Dr. Trent has authored and co-authored more then 20 books, including seventeen that have won writing awards, like the million selling book, The Blessing. As of 2004, there were combined, more than 2,300,000 copies of all his adult and children's books in print, in eleven different languages. As a writer, Dr. Trent has been nominated for the ECPA's Gold Medallion Award for excellence in writing 17 times, winning 14 Silver Medallions and 3 Gold Medallion awards for excellence in Christian publishing. To put that fact into perspective, in the twenty years since the ECPA has given out these publishing awards, out of the more than 1100 authors nominated for this award, Dr. Trent ranks tenth in the list of those nominated most often for the Gold Medallion awards. His newest children's book is called Super Hero Swamp. Dr. Trent is an contributing columnist for Christian Parenting magazine for five years. Teaching, Training and Coaching Dr. Trent has conducted his “StrongFamilies in Stressful Times Seminar” in churches across America. Dr. Trent has spoken to over 65,000 people in over 60 major cities across our country and he has spoken to over 850,000 men at Promise Keepers conferences. In 2005, Dr. Trent launched The Center for StrongFamilies in Scottsdale, Arizona. Here, lay leaders and pastors are trained to go back to their home churches and set up pre-marital and marriage and family ministries. Dr. Trent is also part of the Adjunct Faculty at Phoenix Seminary and for five years has been the “Writing Coach” for the faculty at Azusa Pacific University. Corporate Speaking: In addition to Dr. Trent's speaking at marriage and family conferences, Dr. Trent has spoken extensively to corporate America. Dr. Trent has been a plenary speaker at two YPO (Young President's Organization) Family Universities in Brazil and Greece, and in 2005 was invited to speak at YPO's prestigious Global Leadership Conference (GLC) in Washington, DC. Family Dr. Trent has married to his wife, Cynthia, for 30 years. They have two daughters, one recently graduated from college and the other a senior in high school. They live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
