Born June 8, 1976 in Miami, FL, Jennifer Rodriguez is a Cuban-American speed skater. Her career in speed skating began as an artistic roller skater where she won multiple national championships. She also won a second and third place at the world championships. She switched then to inline speed skating. She was motivated to switch from inline speed skating to ice skating from her husband who was also an American speed skater. From there, she became the world champion in the year 1993. Her inline speed skating coach was Bob Manning.
In the year 1996, she made another career move by giving it a try on ice, in order for her to have a chance to make it on the Olympic Team. Fortunately, it was a successful move, and then she later participated in the year 1998, 2002, 2006 and the 2010 Winter Olympics seasons. She won two bronze medals in Salt Lake City in the year 2002. She is also known by the nicknames Miami Ice and J-Rod "dame cucita".
