Hasim Rahman is an American boxer best known for holding the IBF and WBC World Heavyweight Championship at the same time.
He didn't begin boxing until the age of 20 and fought in only 10 amateur matches before turning pro on December 3rd, 1994. In his first 12 fights, he won 11 by knockout.
In July 1997, he won the USBA regional heavyweight title, and four months later, he added another regional belt, the IBF Intercontinental heavyweight title. By the fall of 1998, he was ranked as one of the top five heavyweights in the world.
His nickname is "The Rock" which comes from his last name. He is currently sponsored by eBaum's World and lives in Rochester, NY where he also trains.
