Born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Gina relocated to Southern California soon after college. Here she began working with celebrities at a large Public Relations firm in Beverly Hills. While working with high profile people such as Michael J. Fox, Sharon Stone, Justine Bateman, Robert Downey, Jr. & others, she identified their need for specialized services like personal training. Having a strong science background, experience as a trainer & a high affinity for exercise & fitness, Gina pursued her certifications in fitness training and began her own business. Since that time she has had the privilege to work with famous Actors, Musicians & television executives such as Andy Garcia, Catherine Bell (JAG), Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson), Kevin James (King Of Queens), Leah Remini, Val Kilmer, Kirstie Alley, Robert Towne, Craig Perry, Colleen Camp, Beck, Chick Corea, Les Moonves, Beth Sullivan, Nancy Roberts and many, many more.
Gina's success as a trainer not only led her to notoriety in the press but also amongst her peers. In 1993, she was invited onto a special development team at the National Strength & Conditioning Association to create a nationally accredited certified personal trainer program. This prestigious program is still the only one of it's kind in existence today. Gina has also served on the NSCA's Examination Development Committee and was Chair Person for the Personal Trainer Committee for 5 years. She received an award from the NSCA for her contribution & work devoted to the Personal Trainer Program. In addition, she is column editor for the Journal of Strength & Conditioning's One-On-One section for Personal Trainers Inevitably, writers and reporters began calling on Gina for her expertise and experience in weight training, advanced program design, nutrition, weight management and current fitness trends. This brought her to the 2003 Personal Trainer of the Year Award recipient from the NSCA.
As a public speaker, Gina has traveled around the globe teaching health & fitness professionals as well as the general public on popular topics such as fat loss, weight loss, training techniques and nutrition. She has presented to audiences in Japan, Philippines, Australia, Europe and the United States. Captivating from 20 to 10,000 people in a room, Gina has been touted as a ‘dynamic and entertaining speaker who gets down to the grit of the matter'.
A rock solid resource, Gina has one of the largest personal networks of nutritionists, world renowned research scientists, strength & conditioning coaches, olympic training coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, biomechanists, wholistic practitioners, fitness consultants and physicians of every specialty including anti-aging medicine, endocrinology and immunology. All these resources are at the top of their game and constantly feed Gina with current information before it is even published in clinical journals, periodicals and/or local news.
As a television personality, Gina currently hosts her own show on FIT TV called Fit Nation running in over 17 countries. She is a fitness reporter for Exercise TV, has appeared on Fitness Infomercials, Reality Shows, DVD's for high profile clients like Weight Watchers and has been a fitness expert for NBC News specials. Gina has also been a featured guest in every radio market in the United States. You can also find her hosting special productions for the Discovery Channel and The Travel Channel.
She is an honors graduate from the University of Pennsylvania in Dental Hygiene/Health Science and holds certifications in personal training from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), the American Council on Exercise (ACE) & Univ. of So. Cal at Los Angeles. In addition, Gina has achieved certificates in Post-Rehabilitation Conditioning and Weight Management. She is proficient in Kickboxing, Boxing, Stage fighting and Stunts, Shudokan Karate, Weight Lifting, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking and many other sports.
