George Rogers is a former NFL football player and 1980 Heisman Trophy Award winner.
He attended the University of South Carolina where he led the NCAA Division 1A in rushing and was selected to the All-American team as a senior.
Following Rogers' standout performance as a senior, Rogers was selected as the first pick of the 1981 Draft. He played 8 seasons in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Redskins, retiring due to injury after the 1987 season.
Throughout his career, he earned a number of awards and achievements. In 1981, he was named Rookie of the Year and was named to his first Pro-Bowl. In 1992, he was named to the All-Century team at his alma mater and in 1997 was inducted into the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame.
