A New York City corporate law attorney/entrepreneur, he joined Ticketmaster in September of 1982. A combination of business savvy, creative and innovative marketing techniques, an intense dedication to superior service, and an eye toward technological innovation brought Ticketmaster from a struggling company with annual sales of less than $100,000,000 to an internationally respected corporation with current annual ticket sales of more than $2.3 billion.
In less than a decade, Ticketmaster has grown from a single operation in the Seattle area, to phone centers and ticket outlets in more than 210 cities in the United States, South America, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia. In August 1995, Rosen was appointed Chairman of Football, a task force to bring an NFL team to Los Angeles, by Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan. In 1994, Fred Rosen was presented the City of Hope National Medical Center's "Spirit of Life" Award from the Music and Entertainment Industry Chapter of the City of Hope. In May 1993, Rosen was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. In 1989, he was honored as the University of Southern California's Entrepreneur of the Year. Along with his dedication to servicing the ticket-buying public comes a deep-rooted commitment to give back to the community. Rosen is a contributor and active fund-raiser for the City of Hope, where he sits on the executive committee of the Music Chapter and on the City of Hope National Board of Directors. He is also a board member of California Institute of the Arts, Aids Project Los Angeles, Simon Wiesenthal Center, Rock The Vote, Very Special Arts, and is a trustee of Crossroads School.
