Felicia Stoler is a registered dietitian, exercise physiologist and expert consultant in nutrition and healthful living, specializing in integrating behavior modification and exercise strategies for individuals looking to enhance their health and well-being. She is also the host of TLC's groundbreaking series Honey, We're Killing the Kids!, which takes aim at the unhealthy lifestyles of families, across the country, in an effort to motivate them to make positive changes.
Nearly 10 years ago, while working at ABC News, Felicia wanted to make a career change and someone suggested that she go to school for something that she was passionate about. So while working full-time, she attended graduate school at night. Not only did she complete a double masters degree from Columbia University, but she completed her dietetic internship there as well. Her desire to continue her education, while a working mother of two, has only enhanced Felicia's expertise, as her doctoral work at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ has been in the area of worksite wellness.
Felicia is the published author of numerous book chapters and articles on nutrition, exercise, health and wellness. Her debut book Living Skinny in Fat Genes: The Healthy Way to Lose Weight and Feel Great was released in late 2010. She has been quoted in a number of newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, New York Post, Teen Vogue, Prevention and Runners' World. Felicia has been a guest on several television and radio shows, as an expert on nutrition and fitness. In addition, she was invited to be a "surprise" fitness presenter at the 2006 National Governors' Association Winter meeting.
Felicia has built an impressive portfolio of speaking engagements, training programs and media presentations with such organizations as The ING New York City Marathon, ABC News Medical Unit, Unilever, and Nike, among others. She is the Vice President of the Greater New York Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine and was appointed to the New Jersey Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
Felicia is passionate about health and wellness and she practices what she preaches! Her philosophy about informing and helping others is that everything should be Simple, Realistic and Attainable. One of her goals is to be part of the solution to the obesity epidemic. Felicia knows that the media is a great way to reach more people in order to provide accurate, impartial and science-based information to the public. Felicia maintains a private practice in NJ.
Felicia has served in many professional associations as a volunteer and leader; along with volunteering in her community. She has been a mentor to many students, in addition to inspiring and helping to change the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of people.
