Eric Ryan is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder of Method, a non-toxic soap company that is good for the planet and innovatively packaged and designed. Born and raised in Michigan, Ryan and childhood friend Adam Lowry connected after losing touch, at which point Ryan pitched his company idea to his long-time friend. The pair officially launched the company in 2001 with just $16 in the bank and more than $100,000 in credit card debt. Prior to founding Method, Ryan attended the University of Rhode Island, receiving a BA in Communications. He then moved to London to launch his career, eventually going on to work as an account planner for Fallon and then Hal Riney & Partners.
In the late 90’s, Ryan decided he wanted to create a company that sold green cleaning products and that also looked beautiful. After noticing a hole in the market, Ryan pitched his idea to Lowry. Since its inception, Ryan and Lowry have grown Method into a $150 million company and it was ranked the 7th fastest growing company in America by Inc. Magazine in 2006. Ryan has received numerous accolades over the years, including being named an eco-leader by Vanity Fair, an eco-revolutionary by Time Magazine, and PETA’s Person of the Year.
