Elena Hight was born August 17, 1989 in Kauai and is an American Olympic snowboarder. Hight started snowboarding in 1995 and competing in 2002. Her best World Cup finish was third in a halfpipe event in Spain in 2009. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Hight finished sixth in the halfpipe event. She finished 19th in the halfpipe at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2005 in Whistler, British Columbia.
Since the debut as a professional athlete, Elena has gathered nearly a dozen more podium finishes at major events including the Winter X Games, US Grand Prix, Burton US Open, the Winter Dew Tour, Vans Cup and more. 20 Year, 20 Firsts ESPN X Games #1 moment. Held the only female part in Mr Plant. On January 26, 2013 at Winter X Games XVII, Hight became the first snowboarder, male or female, to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo during a halfpipe competition [3] which has taken women’s snowboarding progression to a new level. Silver medal in Aspen, CO at X Games. Silver medal at X Games in Tignes, France. Gold at the Grand Prix in Mammoth. Silver at Winter X Games in Aspen. Silver at X Games in Tignes France. Gold at the Burton US Open in Stratton, Vermont. In May 2012, while training with the U.S. snowboard team in Mammoth, Calif., Hight became the first woman to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo in a half pipe. 3rd place in women’s halfpipe at Winter X Games in Aspen, CO. At the January 2010 Winter X Games XIV in Aspen, Colorado, Hight placed sixth in the Women's Snowboard SuperPipe. 2nd place at the Grand Prix in Mammoth, CA. 1st place at Snowbasin, UT Dew Tour stop. 3rd place at Roxy Chicken Jam in Mammoth, CA. On January 26, 2010, Hight made the 2010 Winter Olympics US team. During the Olympics on Vancouver's Cypress Mountain, she competed in the ladies' halfpipe. The American competitors included (Hannah Teter, Kelly Clark, Gretchen Bleiler, and Hight), the same four who competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics. 3rd place in women’s halfpipe at Winter X Games in Aspen, CO. Vans Cup halfpipe champion at Northstar in Tahoe, CA with first back-to-back 900s. Vans Cup halfpipe champion at Northstar, Tahoe, CA. Bronze medalist in women’s halfpipe at X Games in Aspen, CO. 2nd place overall halfpipe at US Grand Prix tour. At the age of just 16 years, Elena represented the USA At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin Competed in halfpipe at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2005 in Whistler, British Columbia. At the age of just 13 years, Elena Hight attended her first Winter X Games in Aspen, CO.
