Prior to joining Epstein Becker Green, Mr. Kennedy co-founded and served as President of the Marwood Group, a health care-focused strategic advisory and financial services firm. Under Mr. Kennedy's leadership, the Marwood Group advised hundreds of the nation's foremost health care companies, institutional investors, and trade associations. He previously served as a lawyer at a New Haven, Connecticut, law firm and as the Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the Connecticut Hospital Association.
Mr. Kennedy has also been an active leader in the movement to expand opportunities for persons with disabilities. He advises employers about how to create and enhance such opportunities, and serves on the boards of numerous disability advocacy organizations. Mr. Kennedy also lectures nationwide on topics relating to health and disability law.
In November 2014, Mr. Kennedy was elected as a State Senator in the Connecticut General Assembly. He currently serves as the Senate Chair of the Environment Committee, as well as a member of the Transportation, Internship, and Public Health Committees. The Environment Committee has cognizance of matters relating to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection that include conservation, recreation, pollution control, fisheries and game, state parks and forests, water resources, and flood and erosion control, and all matters relating to the Department of Agriculture, including farming, dairy products, and domestic animals. Mr. Kennedy also serves as the Majority Whip for the Democratic Caucus.
