Derek Blasberg is a fashion writer, fashion editor, guest blogger, and New York Times best-selling author. After graduating with honors from NYU in Dramatic Literature and Journalism, Blasberg began his first job as an assistant at Vogue Magazine.
Blasberg is currently Editor-at-Large of Harper's Bazaar, where he profiles the likes of Lady Gaga, Tom Ford and Daphne Guinness. In addition, he is the editor of VMAN and a senior editor at V, the men's and women's publications from the arts collective Visionaire. In 2008, Blasberg edited Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's book Influence and since has contributed to several other books and literary projects.
Within two weeks of it's debut, Blasberg's first book, Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady, was certified as a New York Times best seller. In typical Blasberg style, the book was celebrated with a series of international parties hosted by his friends, the fashionable jet-set, including Chloe Sevigny, Milla Jovovich, Nicole Richie, Kate Bosworth, Nate Berkus, Emma Watson, Dasha Zhukova, Lauren Santo Domingo, Karlie Kloss, Margherita Missoni, Alexa Chung and Barbara Pierce Bush. In October of 2011, Blasberg released Very Classy: Even More Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady, which is an expanded, updated and revamped version of the original best seller.
Outside of his many literary feats, Blasberg is also one of the most highly recognizable faces in the international fashion world. According to a ranking by Style.com, Blasberg was the second most photographed guest at fashion parties for 2009 outranking Karl Lagerfeld and #6 on New York Magazine's list of Most Photographed Faces in 2010.
