Dennis Lauscha, who was named team President May 20, 2012, oversees the club’s financial operations and government affairs as well as its marketing, ticket and suite sales, legal, stadium community affairs, human resources, information technology and facilities departments. He’s also one of the club’s representatives at NFL Owner’s Meetings. Entering his 15th season with the Saints, Lauscha has held several positions and responsibilities with the team, most recently as Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer. In addition to his duties with the Saints, the New Orleans native maintains multiple roles within other holdings of Owner/Chairman of the Board Tom Benson, maintaining a role in the management of New Orleans FOX affiliate WVUE-TV, and Zelia, LLC. Most recently he was the lead negotiator for Mr. Benson’s purchase of the National Basketball Association’s New Orleans Hornets and will serve as their team President as well. Lauscha was promoted to Executive Vice President in May, 2009, after serving as Senior Vice President from 2006-09, and first being named a Vice President after joining the Saints as Chief Financial Officer in 1998. He’s a key member of the team that actively pursues future Super Bowls for the City of New Orleans and was instrumental in landing Super Bowl XLVII, to be played on February 3, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Lauscha was part of the Saints’ contingent that negotiated the agreement with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal on a partnership that continues the club’s commitment to the state through 2025. The deal included the Benson family purchasing and redeveloping the New Orleans Centre and Benson Tower, properties adjacent to the Superdome. As a result of the agreement, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome underwent extensive renovations and improvements. The innovative agreement has dramatically modernized the team’s playing facility, revitalized the area around the stadium and has generated revenue for the state without any new taxes for citizens. In 2011, Lauscha also played a key role in finalizing a ground-breaking ten-year stadium naming rights and sponsorship agreement with Mercedes-Benz. In 2008, he was also a primary member of the negotiating team during the purchase of WVUE, and has since helped steward the station’s growth in the New Orleans market. Lauscha was instrumental in the 2003 expansion of the team’s training facility and this offseason, he has overseen an extensive renovation and expansion of the club’s main facility and administrative offices. Lauscha has been involved with numerous league-wide initiatives, including an NFL working committee for league financial reporting and a working committee for disaster preparedness. He has also completed the NFL Managers Program at Stanford University's Executive Education Graduate School of Business. Lauscha has completed terms as board president of the Preservation Resource Center, president of the regional chapter of the Boy Scouts of America and as a member of New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s Blight Transition New Orleans Task Force. He currently serves as Chairman of the Visiting Committee of the Loyola University School of Business and on the Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee. His dealings with the Saints, state officials and local organizations have provided an opportunity for community involvement. His professional and charitable work was recognized by New Orleans CityBusiness when Lauscha was selected as one of the 40 Most Influential Members of the Community. The honor is bestowed on those who are laying the groundwork for a better city. In 2010, he was named the Alumnus of the Year by Loyola University of New Orleans’ College of Business and also was named to the 2010 Class of Role Models by the Young Leadership Council, recognizing his commitment and contributions to the enhancement of the community. After graduating from Jesuit High School, Lauscha graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in business. He has also received a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University in New Orleans and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining the Saints, Lauscha worked as the club's auditor for four years while working for a national accounting firm. Lauscha and his wife Jennifer, have a son, Dennis Patrick, Jr., and a daughter, Evelyn Anne.
