Dariush Mozaffarian is dean of Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. A board-certified cardiologist and epidemiologist, his research focuses on the effects of diet and lifestyle on cardiometabolic health. Mozaffarian was previously on the faculty at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health and clinically active in cardiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He has authored more than 250 scientific publications on lifestyle and cardiovascular health and has served in numerous advisory roles, including for the American Heart Association, US and Canadian governments, World Health Organization, and United Nations. He chairs the Global Burden of Diseases Nutrition and Chronic Diseases Expert Group.
