Darius Glover is America's real motocross hero. The disabled motocross racer likely has more heart than any other rider on the planet. “Believe in yourself and you can do anything you want“, says Darius Glover, with a big smile. Just watch him ride, and you'll see why the word “heart” immediately comes to mind. On July 1st, 2006, while practicing for an upcoming race, the amateur motocross racer was paralyzed from the waist down, in a crash on a slick double jump at a local MX track named ‘Field of Dreams'. Determined to stick with the sport that he loves, within no time Darius was defying all odds and back riding his customized dirt bike. Amazing as it is that he started riding again following his accident, the truth is that it took hundreds of practice laps and tedious crashes to get going again. Darius's determination and fearless focus has succeeded in producing a strong rider with lots of speed and natural talent. As a matter of fact, at this year's Mini O's in Gainesville, Florida, in a stacked class and forced to start on the far outside of the gate, Darius pulled the holeshot! The hero led his race until he fell in a sharp turn, one of the paralyzed rider's biggest challenges. Darius has equipped his 2012 CR450f with his own fabricated custom bars, seat, slipper clutch and brake, in order to make it ride-able for him. It's working, and with such tremendous heart, determination, and natural talent, Darius Glover now has a good shot at racing Loretta Lynn's in 2012. He plans to be in both the 450C class and Open Four stroke class at Loretta's. In the not too distant future, Darius dreams of both competing in the X games and going Pro. The 20 year old trains extremely hard and calls MTF (Millsaps Training Facility) his home-track. At MTF he trains with infamous motocross trainer Colleen Millsaps, the mother of Pro Motocross Legend and JGRMX team rider, Davi Millsaps. When he's not riding, Glover is busy attending class at Florida State University, in nearby Tallahassee. Originally from Maryland, Darius took a liking to motocross at an early age and rode almost daily with his best friend Daniel O'Brian. Darius has already achieved several historic milestones, including being the first paralyzed racer to ever be cleared to ride in AMA sanctioned race events. As expected, some people debate this decision, questioning his eligibility and other racer's safety. At Chronic MX we believe that it's the racers who cannot ride well who are the real danger out on the track… not the riders who cannot walk! Darius definitely knows how to ride well, and is likely much faster than you are on the track.
