Sometimes one moment can change your life, and give birth to a life-long passion. Daila experienced this at 18 years old when she began to climb after witnessing a bouldering competition in her home town. Daila is from Gran Canaria, one of the six Spanish islands that form the Archipelago Canario. Growing up surrounded by water, it was 'normal' to play in the perfect waves of the Atlantic Ocean, practising bodyboard and surf. But Daila realised her passion was for climbing, and she took the decision to move to Cataluña, a place that was perfect for climbers. It was a leap of faith, also for her family who then knew nothing about climbing, but who have supported her in all her adventures. Together with her boyfriend she lives a happy life, climbing intensely, and together they live their passion in the company of some great people. To begin with, Daila was eager to experience everything in climbing … competition, training, climbing outside. It led her to some great experiences in competition in Spain. But with time our experiences shape and deepen our passions. For the moment Daila prefers just to climb outside, something that she loves absolutely, and which is natural since living in one of the best places for sport climbing in the world! She is dedicated to developing herself as a climber, travelling the world, and living the sport which is her passion. She feels incredibly fortunate to be living and searching for her dream with people that she loves.
