Daewon Song was born February 19, 1975 in Seoul, South Korea and is a Korean American skateboarder. He is recognized for his technical street skateboarding.
He co-owns Almost Skateboards with fellow pro Rodney Mullen, and he skates for the team.
Daewon is known for his vast array of creative ledge tricks, manual tricks, and transition tricks, as well as his use of "old school" tricks alongside newer ones. These extremely technical combinations have earned him a place as one of the best, most technical skateboarders of the modern era.[citation needed] The creative element in Song's video parts has also broken new ground in skateboarding, where obstacles previously considered unskateable or unworthy of skating have been used throughout his video sections. While Daewon Song's style is extremely technical, his videos prove that technicality can be mixed with speed and amplitude.
