Chris Rhyss Edwards is a former soldier turned digital media professional, writer and speaker. In 2010, he undertook a yearlong sabbatical from corporate life to commence a research project designed to answer a really big question: do we ever have a good reason to kill?
Over a five-year timespan he researched and interviewed people on controversial topics spanning euthanasia, abortion, child soldiers, infanticide, state execution, terrorism and honor killings, before writing Good Reasons to Kill: An Anthology or Morality, Murder and Collective Madness, the first book of its kind that shares the stories of twenty people who have been forced by choice or circumstance to confront the biggest morality dilemma possible. In 2015, he took the TEDx stage to deliver a talk on The Uncomfortable Truth Between Right & Wrong.
A passionate advocate for men’s mental health and, Chris’s latest book Two Wolves: Thoughts on Men, Masculinity & Marriage is focused on reducing the incidence of male suicide by reshaping the narrative around men's mental health. It hits shelves worldwide in April 2017.
Chris has previously completed the National Speakers Association of Australia course and regularly speaks at ad:tech and iMedia events around the world. He has conducted live on stage interviews with NASA, Google, Facebook, New York Times and more, and has interviewed some of the world’s smartest marketers and technologists, spanning Intel, IDEO, Visa, EMOTIV, Electronic Arts, NewsCorp, Taboola and Babbel.
He has studied Entrepreneurship & Innovation through the University of Adelaide, holds a Master’s in Creative Writing from Queensland University of Technology, and is the founding editor of Digerati Magazine.
