Carson Porter joined the Wilmington Hammerheads in USL-Pro after spending three years as a Technical Advisor and National Staff Coach for the United States Soccer Federation. He served as an assistant coach for the U-14 and U-15 U.S. Youth National Teams, and most recently spent the last year as the assistant coach with the U-18 Men’s National Team. Prior to his time with the USSF, Porter was involved in the college game. His most successful stint came as the Assistant Coach at Wake Forest from 2004-2008. During his time at Wake Forest the team went to 3 consecutive College Cup appearances, winning the NCAA National Championship in 2007. He was honored in 2008 as the National Assistant Coach of the Year by the NCAA. Originally from Charlotte, NC, Porter played college soccer at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He is married to Jenna Porter also originally from Charlotte, NC.
