Bobby is a veteran GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teacher with over thirty years of club professional experience. He is well known for his impressive development of talented players and tournament winners from junior golf to the PGA Tour. Scott Verplank, #15 in PGA Career Tour winnings, began a coaching and mentoring relationship with Bobby at the age of thirteen. Bobby was mentored by Claude Harmon, Sr. and greatly influenced by Harvey Penick. These were arguably the two most influential and legendary golf instructors of the 20th century. Bobby joins Mr. Penick in the unique distinction of being the only two professionals to develop two first team NCAA All Americans the same year. Bobby's players have competed in numerous Masters, U.S. Opens, British Opens, PGA Championships, plus countless U.S. Amateurs, U.S. Mid-Amateurs, and U.S. Juniors. His students have won innumerable state opens, state amateurs, plus every significant amateur championship. He coached multiple NCAA and AJGA All Americans. Fifteen students have received major college scholarships. Two of his players have been Low Amateur in the U.S. Open. Three have been the youngest qualifiers in the U.S. Amateur. His players have won the U.S. Amateur, the U.S. Junior, the NCAA, plus five PGA Tour titles and a World Golf Championship. Players have been named to two Ryder Cup, two Presidents Cup, two Walker Cup, and two World Amateur teams.
