Current head coach of the Calgary Flames, Bob Hartley is a successful NHL Head Coach who previously coached both the Colorado Avalanche and the Atlanta Thrashers.
Hartley became Head Coach of the Thrashers in 2003 and became the seventh-fastest coach in NHL history to reach 200 wins.
In 2004, Hartley was named " Coach of theYear" by Hockey Digest. He was also ranked 86th by The Hockey News in the 5th annual edition of hockey's "Top 100 People of Power and Influence."
Hartley is very involved with the Atlanta hockey community, spending his time helping to develop the game, giving on-ice instruction for players at all levels, including youngsters in the "Junior Thrashers" Program.
In 2001, Hartley led the Colorado Avalanche to the Stanley Cup Championship. He has the great distinction of being one of only four head coaches to lead teams to both the Stanley Cup and Calder Cup championships.
Hartley guided the 2000-01 Colorado team to its most successful season in franchise history.
