Bernice King is the daughter of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King. Preserving the legacy of her parents, she is a skilled public speaker and has been asked to speak around the world. Bernice King was named a Ten of Tomorrow future leader of the black community by Ebony magazine. King was 17 years old when she invited to speak on the behalf of her mother at the United Nations.
Bernice King decided to become a minister at the age of 24, and completed a Master's degree in Divinity from the Candler School of Theology. Alongside her brother, Martin Luther King III, she served an important role in reforming the Southern Christian Leadership Conference once led by their father. In 1996 King published "Hard Questions, Heart Answers", a collection of her speeches and sermons. The publication received a positive reveiw from USA Today.
