Barry Bostwick is an American stage and screen actor. He is known for playing Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). He replaced Peter Scolari as Mr. Tyler in the sitcom What I Like About You, as well as portraying Mayor Randall Winston in the sitcom Spin City and the father of the President in the TV series Scandal. Bostwick has also had considerable success in musical theater.
Bostwick has also been in musical theatre. In 1972, he originated the role of Danny Zuko in the original Broadway production of Grease. The role earned Bostwick a Tony Award nomination.
Bostwick's had other theatre roles that include portraying bandit Jamie Lockhart in the 1977 Broadway musical "The Robber Bridegroom" and he earned another Tony Award. In 1990, he was in another Broadway musical, "Nick and Nora", in which Bostwick co-starred with Joanna Gleason.
Bostwick currently serves as host of the nationally televised annual "Capitol Fourth" celebration on the National Mall in Washington, D.C and he usually starts off the show by singing a medley of patriotic songs.
