Anna D. Shapiro most recently directed the world premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis's play, The Motherf**ker With the Hat, which received six Tony Award nominations, including Best Play and Best Director. As an ensemble member of Steppenwolf Theatre, she directed some of the most memorable Steppenwolf productions in recent years, including August: Osage County. Shapiro is also head of the Graduate Directing Program at Northwestern University.
