As crew chief for Richard Childress Racing, it was under Petree's guidance that Dale Earnhardt scored his final two Winston Cup Championships. Petree was also crew chief for one of the most amazing feats in modern NASCAR racing history when Harry Gant won a remarkable four straight races in 1991.
