A friend to all and an enemy of none, Andy is the consummate Hoosier. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN he improbably started his career as a wrestler before becoming a runner. He was the Indiana state champion at the 3200m in 2008 before attending Indiana University. While at IU he was a 6 time Big 10 champion and an 11 time All American. He won the 2012 NCAA 1500m championships and then followed that up with a 4th place finish at the 2012 Olympic trials. After graduating in 2013 he ran a large personal best of 3:34 for 1500m in Oordegem, Belgium. At the end of a successful summer that also saw him set personal bests in the mile and the 3,000m, he had two life changing experiences: he married his wife Chelsea and they decided to move to Portland. As a young professional Andy has dabbled in a new event, the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing 7th at the USATF championships in his 4th ever attempt.
Away from running Andy enjoys playing with his dog, hanging out with his wife, and putting Aardvark sauce on everything. He is also fond of reminiscing about the glory days in the Big 10 while Dan rolls his eyes.
