Alison Sweeney was born in Los Angeles, California on September 19, 1976. She is best known for the 8 years she spent as the host of the hit fitness TV show “The Biggest Loser.” Alison Sweeney is also famous for her portrayal of Samantha Gene Brady on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. Her portrayal won four Soap Opera Digest Awards as well as a Daytime Emmy Award.
Alison Sweeney began hosting The Biggest Loser in 2007 for season 4 as the replacement for departing host Caroline Rhea. The Biggest Loser is a TV show where overweight contestants compete for the prize by trying their hardest to lose as much weight as they can over the course of three months.
Her first acting role was in a Kodak advertisement. In the 1990's, she struggled with her weight, but by the early 2000’s Alison Sweeney decided it was time for a change. She then began living a healthy lifestyle and subsequently slimmed down.
She wrote about her experiences with weight loss as part of her 2004 memoir, All The Days of My Life (So Far). She appeared in 2002's episode of Celebrity Fear Factor, and on the show she was put into a coffin with Madagascar hissing cockroaches, flatworms, and millipedes. Alison Sweeney is married to David Sanov with whom she has a son and daughter with, and currently resides in Los Angeles.
