Dec 29 2015

In recent years, Yahoo has been pushing hard to stay at the front of mobile technology development. CEO Marissa Mayer has been a key driver of that activity since joining the company in 2012.
Mayer will be the keynote speaker at Yahoo's third Mobile Developer Conference on February 18th. The event is invitation-only and around 1,000 people will attend in San Francisco.
Company executives will update attendees on the variety of mobile trends and updates Yahoo is making. They have been making a push to find a way to increase advertising revenue with their apps.
Prior to arriving at Yahoo, Mayer was a longtime executive at Google. In 2014, she ranked sixth on Fortune's 40 under 40 list and also named as the world's 16th most powerful businesswoman by the magazine.
Yahoo has made several major purchases under Mayer's watch, including acquiring Tumblr for $1.1 billion in 2013. She has enacted widespread policy changes such as lengthening maternity leave time and instituting a new employee complaint system.
In addition to her duties at Yahoo, Mayer sits on the board of directors for Walmart and Jawbone. She is also on the boards of several non-profit organizations such as Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, and the San Francisco Ballet.
