U.S. Air Force General Ellen Pawlikowski Speaks at Women in Science and Engineering Symposium

U.S. Air Force General Ellen Pawlikowski recently keynoted an important event for the military. She was the speaker at the Air Force Technical Applications Center Women in Science and Engineering Symposium on September 7th.
Pawlikowski actually began her military career with AFTAC in 1984. Returning to Patrick Air Force base, of course, conjured up great memories for her and she shared excellent stories from her lengthy Air Force tenure.
AFTAC selected her to deliver the WiSE keynote because of her experience in engineering and familiarity in the nuclear treaty monitoring center. This was the third year of the summit and it featured 34 different speakers.
Pawlikowski is just the third female four-star general in the history of the Air Force. She currently serves as the Commander of the Air Force Material Command out of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
Pawlikowski came to Wright-Patterson after working in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition as the Military Deputy. She originally joined the Air Force in 1978 via the New Jersey Institute of Technology ROTC program.
Pawlikowski holds a bachelor's degree from NJIT and a master's degree at the University of California. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineers and a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
